Desktop flagpole
A fellow vendor asked me if I could make a small flagpole that he could use to display an American flag at his table when he attends the shows. I used red oak to turn a round base and mounted a .50 BMG cartridge in the center to hold the pole. I mounted a .50 S&W brass cartridge to the top of a red oak dowel and put several coats of lacquer on both pieces to bring out the beautiful wood grain. He mounted the flag and had it proudly displayed at the Morocco Temple show.
